Fall Duck Hunting
Are you looking for the best fall duck hunting experience possible? Epic Guide Service has the right equipment and knowledge necessary for you to harvest your limit.
Wisconsin is home to many different kinds of waterfowl, depending on the time of the year. The area’s fall sea duck/diver duck species include bluebills, canvasbacks, buffleheads, redheads, scoters, old squaws (long tails) and goldeneyes.
Mississippi Duck Hunting Trips
The best place to shoot a trophy canvasback may be the upper Mississippi River. Hunts take place south of LaCrosse, WI. Many days six species of ducks are shot and seeing 100,000 plus ducks in a day is common. Besides canvasbacks; mallards, gadwall, widgeon, bufflehead, bluebills, redheads, and goldeneyes are the common species harvested in November.
- Over 75% of the worlds canvasback can be using the refuge during peak migration.
- 40% of the continent’s waterfowl population uses the Mississippi flyway during fall migration.
- Upper Mississippi River is rated in the top ten waterfowl hunting destinations in all of North America by Ducks Unlimited.
