Spring Smallmouth Bass Fishing

Smallmouth Bass Fishing In Door County, WI

Spring Smallmouth Bass Fishing on Green Bay and in Door County is the best time of the year to target Trophy Smallmouth Bass. Bass in the 5-7+ lb. range are not uncommon this time of the year. The Shallow Bays inside the cold waters of Lake Michigan begin to warm and the bass are getting ready to spawn. Huge numbers of Smallmouth Bass show up in the shallow bays and islands of Door County every spring. This makes for great fishing with both quality and quantity of fish! Casting ned rigs, tubes, drop shots, jerk baits, and spinnerbaits are our favorite way too Catch fish this time of year. Our water takes quit a while to warm up, which provides us with a long period of time these fish are in shallow offering great fishing opportunity. Angers may have to brave some cooler weather this time of year, but are normally rewarded nicely! Bass are seeking the warmest water this time of year and looking to feed before the spawn, making this one of my favorite times of the year to fish! Even with the cold water the bass can be very aggressive. Spring Bass Trips typically start the beginning of may, but can vary depending on water temperatures. Catching some GIANT Walleyes is a great bonus while spring bass fishing too! Please do not hesitate to contact us today with any questions or to book your next Smallmouth Bass Fishing adventure!

Summer Smallmouth Bass Fishing

Smallmouth Bass Fishing with Epic Guide Service

Early summer, normally the month of June, also offers great fishing for Smallmouth Bass on Green Bay and in Door County. After the bass finish spawning, they are looking to feed and bulk up. The bass are very aggressive this time of year looking for an easy meal after expelling so much energy for the spawn. With the slow warming waters of Green Bay and Lake Michigan, early summer offers more shallow/mid depth fishing for customers. Once the water warms up enough the larger bass will start to move offshore or to deeper water for the summer.

Door County offers some very unique fishing structure for bass, especially in summer when the fish move deer. Targeting island complexes, offshore reefs, cliffs, ledges, deepwater humps can be deadly this time of the year. Most fisherman do not get to experience or fish the vast ranges of structure we have on Green Bay. Fishing out of your home waters and experiencing new techniques and areas will also make you a better fisherman. Every guide trip our goal is to catch fish, but we also want the customers who want to learn to take new and valuable information home with them to utilize in their own fishing! Summer time offers great numbers of fish catches on out trips.

Fall Smallmouth Bass Fishing

Smallmouth Bass Fishing with Epic Guide Service

Fall Smallmouth Bass Fishing is when the bass really start to put the feedbag on before winter. The bass will set up in the deep water in the fall near their wintering areas. Bass can be caught on both artificial and live bait this time of the year. The weather can be a little cooler, but the giant bass we see in spring start to show up again. A lot of time live bait is used during the trip along with casting artificial, giving our customers the best chance at a true trophy Smallmouth Bass. Fall can be more of a time to target bigger trophy sized fish instead of numbers of fish.

Testimonials and Reviews

“I had a great fishing experience with Jake. My nephew Skip and I met him at sunrise on a dock near Green Bay. After a short time of fighting the wind, currents and weeds, we found some decent areas to fish. Jake kept telling us that eventually the fish would have to eat, and then they would turn up. He was right, and at 4 p.m. I hooked a 45-inch muskie. After having two more strikes, Skip hooked a nice 49-incher and had to show his uncle up. Getting in at dark made for a long, but well worth day of fishing.Jake was an excellent guide and we plan to book another trip Soon.”

“I’ve gone hunting and fishing with captain Jake on multiple occasions. He always puts us on the birds and fish! Jake is very knowledgeable on multiple species of fish and where to find them to make the trip enjoyable. When duck hunting with Jake, you can really see the joy Jake gets when a guest downs a bird. You also get to watch the best bird dog Max do what he does best. All in all, I’ve never had a bad time out with Jake and plan on going with him again as often as work will allow!”

“My two brothers and I had the opportunity to fish with Jake last fall. He is extremely knowledgeable on techniques baits and where to go to find the fish. He will do everything in his power to put you on the fish like he did for us. With his know how and expertise he put us on two muskies both of which were over 50″ and in one day! That’s pretty epic. In my opinion if you want a top notch fishing guide and just an all around fun person to fish with Jake is that guy. I’ve fished with many guides but none of which come close to epic guide service.”

“Why do I hunt with Jake of Epic Guide Service? The answer is simple: He makes you feel like you’re one of the guys and not just another paycheck. I’ve hunted with many other big and small named outfitters that make your hunt feel commercial, ‘Here’s your field give me your money.’ Jake puts in his time, constantly trying to put you on the best hunt possible; whether it’s changing up the spread or putting in countless hours and miles scouting for that epic hunt.”

“The guides at Epic are some of the best. I have hunted and fished with others, but Jake and Mike are clearly a head above the competition. Their knowledge and advice were impressive. But what really stood out to me was their commitment to the customer and hard work. Unlike other guides, Mike and Jake have been willing to do whatever it takes to make it a successful and enjoyable experience. I highly recommend Epic Guide Service. I have already recommended them to my family and friends. Thanks again guys!”

“I’ve muskie fished in numerous places from Hayward to Canada and have never had much luck. It’s a fish of 10,000 casts. I knew the best place to catch a trophy muskie was Green Bay, Wisconsin. I fished with Jake for three days, and we caught a total of nine muskies, along with numerous other species. He knew which baits to choose, about weather conditions and when they were biting. On the last day I caught the biggest freshwater fish of my life. I was shaking with adrenaline, and I will remember that day for the rest of my life. I would recommend Jake to anyone who is interested in catching huge fish.”

“I have been fortunate enough to both hunt and fish with Jake Kaprelian for many years. Bottom line, he is as good as it gets! He has the knowledge and the gear to be successful. Captain Kaprelian’s best attributes are his drive and determination. He is not satisfied with an average experience. Jake will give you an Epic experience. I personally have caught my biggest fish of multiple species while in his boat. I have also shot the most bag limits of fowl while hunting beside him. Just watching his dog Max work will bring a smile to your face. Do not waste your money on another guide! Thank you Jake for all the memories.”
