Up to four people total. We currently have two charters: Half Day charters and Full Day charters. Both charters allow for up to four people. The key variable here is time—the Half Day charter can run up to 5 hours while the Full Day charter runs up to nine. We charge $25 per additional person; contact us to find out the upper limit for your trip.
That depends! We do more than just one type of trip. You can see our current rates below: Spring Snow Goose Hunting Trip: $250 per person per day. Children 15 and under are free with a paying adult. That depends on what bites! But you’ll get a good idea of what you can expect to catch by checking out our Fishing Reports page. Here you’ll find some of the latest pictures from our excursions. Otherwise, we can only refer you to the average size of these two types of fish: for Musky, the average size is about 45” while the average walleye runs about 22-26”. In all likelihood, that will be a major upgrade from your casual fishing trips, which will make the process of catching one of these beauties an adventure you’ll never forget.
There’s simply no predicting. We deliver consistent results and our customers are routinely happy with their trips, but sometimes the bites don’t come as quickly. That requires a great deal of experience and adaptation so we can find and identify the fish you’ve been looking for. We use a variety of lures and strategies—including electronic fishfinding equipment—to make sure that you’re in the best position to catch fish as possible. After that, it’s all up to the fish.
We have a saying at Epic Guide Service: it’s always fishing weather! You’d be surprised at how a little bit of muggy or rainy weather can enhance a trip, not ruin it. But we at Epic Guide Service also make sure that your safety is our number one priority, which means that we won’t put you at risk when there’s inclement weather. Otherwise, if the weather is safe, we encourage you to try out a charter anyway; you might find that having less competition out on the lake makes for a better afternoon of fishing for you and your guests!
Currently, Epic Guide Service uses a Ranger 620 boat. But even less important in the boat is the quality of its captain–Captain Jake Kaprelian is a coast guard licensed captain, fully trained in the latest of CPR practices.
We use electronic fishfinding equipment to help expedite the fishing process and ensure that when you go on an adventure with us, the fish are biting. That isn’t necessarily a guarantee that every single cast is going to yield you a fish—but it should give you an idea of how seriously we attack the adventure once we head out on the boat!
It depends. We take into account different aspects of the weather—for example, the barometric pressure, the moon phases, the wind speed and direction, etc. These different elements might not make the entire difference in and of themselves, but they add up to an overall picture that helps us better understand where to look.
On fishing trips, we provide fishing poles, bait, tackles, USCA-approved safety gear, life jackets, GPS and navigational units, and transportation. We expect you to bring waterproof or water-appropriate clothing, sunscreen, your camera, sunglasses, a valid Wisconsin fishing license, beverages, snacks, and a hat or visor. It sounds like a lot, but you’ll generally just want to bring the items with you that you would otherwise bring on a fishing trip—we’ll handle the rest. As for hunting, we provide the decoy spreads, electronic calls, ATV transportation, and the hunting location. You should bring guns and non-toxic ammunition, any necessary hunting permits, proper hunting attire, and the appropriate arrangements for lodging in the area. For duck hunting, we also provide heated 20’ and 22’ custom hunting boats, duck calling, large spreads consisting of magnum decoys, and potentially lodging—though you should call in advance to find out about availability. Make sure that you visit the individual hunting and fishing pages to find out what you’ll need to bring specifically to your adventure.
A number of ways. The easiest way is to call us at 414-484-7768. You can also email Jake at jakekaprelian@gmail.com. If you want to get in touch via social media, we encourage that, too. You can find us on Instagram, where we post about many of our latest adventures, as well as Facebook, where we look forward to getting in touch with you and telling you about your next adventure.
